Civil War Day at Mill Hollow Park

Saturday , September  23, 2017   10am-4pm

CIVIL WAR DAY at Mill Hollow Park The Brownhelm Historical Association presents its first Civil War Day and Marcia will be cooking in costume over the campfire. Dutch oven cooking will be a focus with stories of how the soldiers ate during the Civil War. There will be experts in Civil War era topics presenting their knowledge during scheduled demonstrations on period cooking methods, medical practices, uniforms, music and more that will occur throughout the day. There will be stations featuring touchable objects and chances for children (or adults!) to learn how to drill and march like the Civil War soldiers. Take your family on a self-guided tour of the Benjamin Bacon home, then spread out a picnic on the grounds and enjoy the day! Educational fun for the whole family will be had at Mill Hollow at the Vermilion River Reservation!
